Recap: River Valley Blackhawks vs. Dodgeville Dodgers
The River Valley Blackhawks suffered their biggest loss since November 21, 2023 on Friday. They took a serious blow against Dodgeville, falling 70-38. While losing is never fun, River Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 403rd, while Dodgeville is ranked 167th).
River Valley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brooklyn Stokes, who scored ten points along with two steals. Stokes has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Elizabeth Gostomski, who scored eight points.
River Valley has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season. As for Dodgeville, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-6.
River Valley will head out on the road to face off against Riverdale at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dodgeville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Barneveld at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
