Volleyball Recap: Arlington Red Devils vs. St. John's Bluejays
After flying high against Waynesfield-Goshen last Thursday, Arlington came back down to earth. The Arlington Red Devils fell just short of the St. John's Bluejays by a score of 3-2 on Monday. While the Red Devils didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bluejays 25-19 in the first set.
Arlington took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-22, 24-26, 27-25, 15-5.
Despite the loss, Arlington saw an underclassman step up: Allie Settlage had 16 digs. Those 16 digs set a new season-high mark for Settlage.
Even though they lost, Arlington was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That's the most aces they've posted in their last six games.
Arlington's defeat dropped their record down to 16-8. As for St. John's, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-12.
As of now, neither Arlington nor St. John's have any future games scheduled.
