The Norwalk Bears will venture away from home to face off against the Darien Blue Wave at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Norwalk is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last ten games.
Norwalk is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Bridgeport Central on Monday as they made off with a 20-1 win. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Bears with their most commanding win of the season.
Audra Lacomis and Zoey Wilds made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Lacomis struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Wilds pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Lacomis got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI, while Wilds went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave Wilds a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maddie O'Brien, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexa Lacomis, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Norwalk hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Darien waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Senators 24-4. The result was nothing new for the Blue Wave, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Norwalk pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Darien, their record now sits at 15-3.
Norwalk came out on top in a nail-biter against Darien when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
