Football Preview: Live Oak Acorns vs. Los Gatos Wildcats
Live Oak hasn't had much luck against Los Gatos recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Live Oak Acorns are headed away from home for the first time to challenge the Los Gatos Wildcats at 7:00 p.m.
Things were looking good for Live Oak after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell to Ann Sobrato 20-14.
Although Live Oak took the loss, they still got scores from Luke Newell and Anthony Rocha.
Meanwhile, Los Gatos strolled past Liberty with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 38-21. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.
Grayson Doslak went supernova for Los Gatos, rushing for 106 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Doslak got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible 60 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Thomas, who picked up 99 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Live Oak's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Los Gatos, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
Live Oak was dealt a bruising 34-0 defeat at the hands of Los Gatos in their previous meeting back in September of 2022. Can Live Oak avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
