Basketball Recap: Makena Longo's Big Game Can't Quite Lead North Broward Prep over Westminster Academy

North Broward Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a hard 62-46 fall against the Westminster Academy Lions. The Eagles lost against the Lions in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 71-22 score last time.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Makena Longo, who posted nine points and six steals. Those six steals gave Longo a new career-high. Abby Krause was another key player, putting up eight points and four steals.

North Broward Prep's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Westminster Academy, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-6.
