Softball Recap: Mcdowell's Undefeated Season over After Seven Games

McDowell lost against Fort LeBoeuf back in May of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Trojans fell just short of the Bison by a score of 2-1. The contest marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Gabriella Deluca was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She struck out 11 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles.

Deluca wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Madyalyn Matlock, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, McDowell fell to 6-1. As for Fort LeBoeuf, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 7-0.

Looking ahead, McDowell will square off against Warren at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fort LeBoeuf, they will challenge Central Tech at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
