Baseball Game Preview: Eau Claire Beavers vs. New Buffalo Bison

Eau Claire is 0-10 against New Buffalo since May of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Beavers will look to defend their home field against the Bison at 4:15 p.m. Eau Claire will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

Eau Claire is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell just short of Bangor by a score of 7-6 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, while New Buffalo put up plenty of runs two weeks ago, the same can't be said for Lawrence. The Bison put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 15-0 win. The Bison haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Nicholas Wolfe was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Vaughn Nikkel, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3.

New Buffalo's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Eau Claire, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Eau Claire might still be hurting after the 18-4 defeat they got from New Buffalo when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Beavers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
