Baseball Recap: Quincy Beats Pittsfield for Their Fourth Straight Victory

While Quincy put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Pittsfield. The Blue Devils came out on top against the Saukees by a score of 3-0. This was payback for the Blue Devils, who suffered a 5-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Noah Wells tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over 5.2 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Quincy is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-9 otherwise.

At the plate, Quincy's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was James Day, who went 2-for-3 with two runs. Those two runs gave Day a new career-high.

The win was the fourth in a row for Quincy, bringing their record up to 6-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Pittsfield, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-4.

Coming up, Quincy is taking a road trip to take on Moline at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Pittsfield, they will be playing at home against Illini West at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
