Basketball Recap: Armwood Skates Past King with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sickles, Armwood was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They claimed a resounding 55-18 win over the King Lions. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 22 points or more this season.

Leading Armwood to victory were Jaliyah Bandy and Amaya Richardson. Bandy went 6 for 9 on her way to 12 points, while Richardson posted 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mya Ankers, who earned eight points.

Heaven Pyfrom and Mariah Pinkney certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Pyfrom had nine points, while Pinkney put up six points. That was a full 50% of King's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Armwood's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for King, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Armwood will challenge Freedom at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Armwood's defense has only allowed 29.2 points per game this season, so Freedom's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for King, they will square off against Tampa Bay Tech at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tampa Bay Tech will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something King surely won't give up without a fight.
