Basketball Recap: Niskayuna's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Niskayuna lost against Shenendehowa back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Niskayuna Silver Warriors fell 66-57 to the Shenendehowa Plainsmen. While losing is never fun, the Silver Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while the Plainsmen are ranked 26th).

Despite the loss, Niskayuna still got an impressive performance from Skye Linyear, who went 10 for 16 en route to 23 points and six rebounds. Natalie Birmingham was another key player, putting up 14 points and seven boards.

Niskayuna's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5. As for Shenendehowa, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.

Niskayuna won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Schalmont at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Shenendehowa, they are taking a road trip to challenge Saratoga Springs at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Shenendehowa is facing Saratoga Springs at the right time seeing as Saratoga Springs is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
