Carolina Academy extended the longest winning streak in SCISA 8-Man Region II (8 Man) this week by beating King Academy, 18-14. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
Greenwood Christian took down Davis Academy 54-34 last week, the largest margin of any game. Noah Hinzman threw for 36 yards and one touchdown and ran for 132 yards in the win.
The Knights' Alex Berry and Cheyenne Bodie have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Berry has thrown for 1170 yards this season, while Bodie, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 17 catches for 416 yards. Joseph Hubbard from the Hawks leads the league in rushing with 1091 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Wardlaw Academy and Carolina Academy. The Patriots comes into the matchup ranked fourth in the state, while the Bobcats ranks second.
King Academy's Bodie needs only 53 yards against the Raiders next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Bodie has rushed for 947 yards on 102 carries so far this year.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Wardlaw Academy takes on Carolina Academy. Tim Williams' team has allowed 130 points this season, while the Bobcats have given up 82.
Carolina Academy and Jolly Doolittle's team played the most hotly contested game in SCISA 8-Man Region II (8 Man) this week, with Carolina Academy eventually emerging with a 18-14 victory.
