Baseball Recap: Gilman Gets the Win

Gilman won the last time they faced Greenwood and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Pirates came out on top against the Indians by a score of 8-4.

Dawson Robinson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lucas Halida, who scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Talyn Podolak was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Gilman's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Greenwood, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
