Soccer Game Preview: Sanger West vs. Washington Union

The Sanger West Hornets will face off against the Washington Union Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Sanger West was able to grind out a solid win over Madera, taking the game 3-1. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 169th, while the Coyotes are ranked 802nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Erik Estrada and Elijah Pimentel scored all three of Sanger West's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 14 goals.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Washington Union walked away with it. They never let the Bearcats onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Friday.

Sanger West has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 18 contests, which somehow still isn't as good as their 16-2 record this season. As for Washington Union, their win bumped their record up to 13-9.

Sanger West beat Washington Union by a goal when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 1-0. Does Sanger West have another victory up their sleeve, or will Washington Union turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
