Football Game Preview: Sierra Vista Mountain Lions vs. Clark Chargers

The Sierra Vista Mountain Lions will challenge the Clark Chargers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Sierra Vista is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Foothill, who was ranked 13th at the time (Sierra Vista was ranked 15th). The game between Sierra Vista and Foothill didn't end well, with Sierra Vista falling 18-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Mountain Lions were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Clark's offense. They lost 24-0 to Coronado on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Chargers in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost three in a row.

Sierra Vista's loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-4. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.7 points over those games. As for Clark, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-16.

Sierra Vista won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, slipping by Clark 13-12. Does Sierra Vista have another victory up their sleeve, or will Clark turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
