Basketball Recap: Mission Viejo's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

Mission Viejo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 57-40 bruising from the Capistrano Valley Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Diablos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 453rd, while the Cougars are ranked 223rd).

Despite the loss, Mission Viejo still got an impressive performance from Damian Navarro, who posted 20 points. Navarro's evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Mission Viejo's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-14. As for Capistrano Valley, they pushed their record up to 18-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Mission Viejo didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 66-59 defeat against Aliso Niguel on the 27th. As for Capistrano Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 52-44 victory against Beckman on the 27th.
