Baseball Game Preview: Williams Bulldogs vs. Orange Panthers

The Williams Bulldogs will face off against the Orange Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Williams has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 7.

Last Wednesday, Williams didn't have quite enough to beat Seaforth and fell 4-3. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by just one run.

Meanwhile, Orange got themselves on the board against Cedar Ridge on Thursday, but Cedar Ridge never followed suit. They walked away with a 5-0 win over the Fighting Red Wolves. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Not much got past Oliver Van Tiem, who gave up just a hit to keep Cedar Ridge off the board. Van Tiem has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Orange let Kayden Bradsher and Henry Hoffman run wild. Bradsher got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one triple, while Hoffman went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Bradsher is becoming a predictor of Orange's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-1 (and 4-8 when he doesn't).

Orange now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Williams, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

Williams came out on top in a nail-biter against Orange when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 5-4. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
