Basketball Recap: Central Gwinnett Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Central Gwinnett had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 46-42 W against the Discovery Titans. This was a revenge game for the Black Knights: when they faced off against the Titans back in January, they had to take a 37-34 defeat.

Despite the loss, Discovery still got an impressive performance from Kaylon Jackson, who went 7 of 17 en route to 19 points. That was a full 45.2% of Discovery's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Tiara Jones was another key player, putting up four points and seven rebounds.

Central Gwinnett's record is now 18-7. As for Discovery, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 15-11 record this season.

Central Gwinnett wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 51-38 loss against Buford on the 10th. Discovery does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
