Softball Recap: Warrenton Comes Up Short

Warrenton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-10 heartbreaker at the hands of the Corbett Cardinals. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cardinals earlier this season, when they won 8-4.

Emma Stevens and Sara Kornder stepped up to the plate in a big way. Stevens got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI, while Kornder went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Lucy Smith, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI and one double.

Warrenton's loss dropped their record down to 8-12-1. As for Corbett, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.

Warrenton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Corbett, they will face off against Banks at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
