Franklin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-10 heartbreaker at the hands of the Algonac Muskrats. Even though they lost, the Patriots' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Serenity DeLaney was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Mckenna Moore was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Algonac, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin will venture away from home to take on Salem at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Algonac, they will face off against Grosse Pointe North at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
