Basketball Recap: Georgia-Cumberland Academy Takes a Loss

The Georgia-Cumberland Academy Jaguars lost to the CSTHEA Patriots on the road by a 45-30 margin on Tuesday. The contest marked the Jaguars' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Georgia-Cumberland Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Rylee Hagele posted 16 points and six steals. Hagele is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Reese, who earned three points along with seven boards and four steals.

Georgia-Cumberland Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for CSTHEA, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Georgia-Cumberland Academy and The King's Academy will shake off the rust and duke it out on December 2. The Knights' defense has only allowed 24.8 points per game this season, so the Jaguars' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for CSTHEA, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Tennessee Heat at 4:00 p.m. on December 13.
