San Juan Hills had a senior duo take command as Adam Aziz almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine assists and Mason Hodges almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine boards. Hodges' afternoon made it 15 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Rocco Jensen was another key player, going 5 of 7 on his way to 14 points.
San Juan Hills was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.
Meanwhile, Trabuco Hills ended up a good deal behind Tesoro on Monday and lost 50-36. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 451st, while the Titans are ranked 172nd).
San Juan Hills will have to contain Gage Lamboo as he made an impact in Trabuco Hills' last game. He posted eight points. What's more, Lamboo also racked up two steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Devon Williams, who went 5 for 8 en route to 11 points.
San Juan Hills is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.6 points per game. As for Trabuco Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 9-16.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: San Juan Hills has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 29.8 boards per game. However, it's not like Trabuco Hills struggles in that department as they've been averaging 20.8 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
