Basketball Game Preview: Classical Magnet Gladiators vs. Prince RVT Falcons

The Classical Magnet Gladiators will face off against the Prince RVT Falcons at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Classical Magnet has five straight wins, Prince RVT has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Classical Magnet will bounce into Saturday's game after beating Weaver, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Classical Magnet secured a 72-66 W over Weaver on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Prince RVT came up short against Amistad on Friday and fell 61-49.

Classical Magnet will have to contain Jordan Iverson as he made an impact in Prince RVT's last game. He went 11 of 19 on his way to 27 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. That was a full 55.1% of Prince RVT's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Yericziel Cruz, who went 6 for 12 en route to 12 points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Prince RVT smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in five consecutive matches.

Prince RVT's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Classical Magnet, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Everything came up roses for Classical Magnet against Prince RVT in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured an 84-50 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Iverson, who went 8 of 18 on his way to 21 points and seven rebounds. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Classical Magnet still be able to contain Iverson? There's only one way to find out.
