Baseball Recap: Bay City Western Comes Up Short

Bay City Western lost against Northville back in June of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Warriors fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 3-2. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bay City Western saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mikey Deluca, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Bay City Western's loss dropped their record down to 21-6. As for Northville, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 22-9-1.

Bay City Western and Northville should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Warriors (ranked fourth) will meet Flushing (ranked 99th) at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Bay City Western 2.4, the Raiders 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Northville will challenge Stevenson at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (26 vs. 217). The timing is sure in the Mustangs' favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while the Spartans have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
