Preview: Kellogg Wildcats vs. Bonners Ferry Badgers
The Kellogg Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Bonners Ferry Badgers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Kellogg is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
Kellogg has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 20 points or more this season. They blew past Stevensville 53-33. That's two games straight that Kellogg has won by exactly 20 points.
Macy Jerome and Emily Coe were among the main playmakers for Kellogg as the former scored 18 points along with five rebounds and four steals and the latter dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. The matchup was Jerome's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Dani Schillereff was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Bonners Ferry had to endure a five-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They took their game on the road on Saturday with ease, bagging a 58-20 victory over East Valley. With Bonners Ferry ahead 40-8 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Kellogg's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Bonners Ferry, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-3.
Kellogg ended up a good deal behind Bonners Ferry when the teams last played back in December of 2022, losing 68-51. Can Kellogg avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
