Baseball Game Preview: Columbia Capitals vs. Clinton Red Devils

For the first time this season, Columbia will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will challenge the Clinton Red Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Columbia's hitters has struggled lately (they haven't scored a run in four consecutive games), something the team is no doubt ready to change.

Friday just wasn't the day for Columbia's offense. They came up short against Ridge View on Friday, falling 15-0.

Meanwhile, Clinton came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 12-6 margin over the Raiders. The game was the first time the Red Devils have beaten the Raiders on their field since March 7, 2023.

Clinton's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Columbia, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Columbia might still be hurting after the 19-0 loss they got from Clinton in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Capitals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
