Baseball Recap: St. John Find Success

St. John's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Harbor Creek Huskies. For the Fighting Herald, this counts as revenge for the 15-0 victory the Huskies walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Aaron Wychock, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Will Anderson, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

St. John was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harbor Creek only posted a batting average of .188.

The win got St. John back to even at 1-1. As for Harbor Creek, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

St. John wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-0 loss against Revere on the 29th. As for Harbor Creek, they will head out on the road to face off against Grove City at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
