Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Jaheim Redmond and Jayon Connor Lead Alexander Central to Victory

Alexander Central won the last time they faced North Wilkes and things went their way on Friday too. The Alexander Central Cougars took down the North Wilkes Vikings 44-29.

Alexander Central was led to victory by Jayon Connor and Jaheim Redmond. Connor posted 18 points and six rebounds, while Redmond had eight points along with six assists and six boards. Connor's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jahmir Miller was another key player, putting up six points.

Alexander Central's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for North Wilkes, they dropped their record down to 5-7 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alexander Central will head out to face off against Statesville at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for North Wilkes, they are taking a road trip to take on West Wilkes at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Wilkes has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
