Baseball Recap: Altoona Gets the Win

Altoona won the last time they faced DuBois and things went their way on Friday too. The Mountain Lions came out on top against the Beavers by a score of 4-1.

Ryan Mcconnell looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, Gavin Albright was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Altoona's record is now 10-8. As for DuBois, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-6.

Altoona didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 7-1 victory against Central Dauphin on the 10th. As for DuBois, they have also already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Punxsutawney on the 12th.
