Softball Recap: Estancia Takes a Loss

Estancia had lost five straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 3-13 to make it six. They lost 10-0 to the Santa Ana Valley Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-3 on April 2nd.

As for Santa Ana Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. The result was nothing new for Santa Ana Valley, who have now won nine matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

For Santa Ana Valley's part, the team relied heavily on Valeria Gomez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, six RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases Gomez has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Janelle Coronel, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Estancia will take on Godinez Fundamental at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Santa Ana Valley, they will challenge Loara at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
