Volleyball Recap: St. Monica Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for St. Monica, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They put the hurt on the St. Paul Swordsmen with a sharp 3-0 victory on Thursday. The Mariners haven't had any issues with the Swordsmen recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-21, 25-15.

St. Monica's offense was headlined by Garrett Robertson and Thomas Prinn, who picked up ten kills apiece. They got some help from Sam Zimmermann and his 20 assists. Nicolai Marinho controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

St. Monica's victory bumped their record up to 11-9-2. As for St. Paul, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.

Looking ahead, St. Monica will challenge Burroughs at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bears will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Mariners surely won't give up without a fight. As for St. Paul, they will face off against St. Genevieve on Tuesday.
