Baseball Recap: White River Takes a Loss

White River suffered their closest loss since May 2, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Kentwood Conquerors by a score of 4-2. The game marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

White River saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cale Thatcher, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Thatcher has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Caleb Dale also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for White River and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Kentwood, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Looking ahead, White River will look to defend their home field on Monday against Decatur at 4:00 p.m. As for Kentwood, they will head out to face off against Kentridge at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
