Chicago Public Illini - Heartland recap October 1, 2013

Brooks College Prep added to the longest winning streak in Chicago Public Illini - Heartland this week by beating Marshall, 49-8. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Eagles.

Brooks College Prep led the league in scoring this week after putting up 49 points on the Commandos.

Harper's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. David Harvey threw for 125 yards and Devin Davis had 95 yards receiving. On the ground Davis contributed 110 yards.

Davis was the best receiver in the league this week as the Cardinals bested John Hope College Prep. Davis racked up 4 receptions for 95 yards.

Harper's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cardinals feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Harvey has thrown for 536 yards and 3 touchdowns this season, while Davis has 8 catches for 246 yards.

A big matchup in Chicago Public Illini - Heartland this week will be when Austin Poly/Austin Business & Entrepreneurship/VOISE Academy takes on Marshall. The Tigers are in fourth place, while Jarve Lewis-Bey's team is in third place.

Austin Poly/Austin Business & Entrepreneurship/VOISE Academy made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 11,114 from 11,660. The improvement was largely due to a 46-6 victory over Collins Academy last week.
