Volleyball Recap: Villa Angela-St. Joseph Has No Trouble Against Varsity Opponent

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Riverside, Villa Angela-St. Joseph was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Varsity Opponent. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Vikings also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2023.

Their offense was headlined by Sydney Dunmire and Elizabeth Dunmire, who picked up 13 kills apiece. They got some help from Aziah Turner and her 33 assists. Marilynn Cvelbar controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-3.

Villa Angela-St. Joseph didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Lorain on the 6th. As for Varsity Opponent, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Northland Lutheran on the 4th.
