Recap: Salisbury Panthers vs. Westran Hornets
If The Salisbury Panthers were feeling good off their 44-20 takedown of the Confluence Prep Academy/Grand Center Arts Academy last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Salisbury ended up on the wrong side of a tough 35-14 walloping at the hands of Westran on Friday. Salisbury was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-8.
Salisbury's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Eli Jackson, who picked up 131 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Westran's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Korbin Perry, who rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown. Jack Harlan and his 86 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Westran's victory.
Salisbury now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Westran, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
Salisbury will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Marceline at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Marceline will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. Westran will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Putnam County at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Putnam County is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
