Baseball Recap: New Egypt Wins Going Away Against Dunellen

New Egypt won the last time they faced Dunellen and things went their way on Saturday too. The Warriors put the hurt on the Destroyers with a sharp 13-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Jake Milicia made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Milicia was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Aidan Healy was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for New Egypt: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-9-1 otherwise. Lucas Burgos was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

New Egypt always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

New Egypt's record is now 6-9-1. As for Dunellen, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-7 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Egypt will square off against Raritan at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Rockets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Dunellen, they will face off against Rahway at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Destroyers are facing the Indians at the right time seeing as the Indians are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
