Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rio Rico). They blew past the ALA - Queen Creek Patriots 69-27 on Tuesday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Hawks with their most commanding win of the season.

Angelina Whelan went supernova for Rio Rico, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds. Whelan has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last four times she's played.

ALA - Queen Creek lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Grace Cody, who posted five points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shante Butler, who had five points.

The victory made it two in a row for Rio Rico and bumps their season record up to 4-2. As for ALA - Queen Creek, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Rio Rico wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 58-24 win against Tanque Verde on the 12th. As for ALA - Queen Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 40-38 victory against Mohave on the 6th.
