Danville extended their postseason success on Friday against Fisher Catholic. They blew past the Irish, posting a 59-8 win. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Danville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cyren Wallace, who rushed for 115 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries. Wallace is becoming a predictor of the Blue Devils' success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 3-5 when he doesn't). Danville also got help from Briggs Wallace, who showed off his sure hands for 155 receiving yards.

Danville didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Fisher Catholic to a completion percentage of just 21.7%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from three players: Wallace, Briggs, and Aidan Mickley, who each logged one passes deflected. Danville is a perfect 3-0 when they limit the passing game like that.

Danville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Wesley Payne, Wallace, and Carson Proper picked up one apiece. Wallace's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 115 rushing yards. Danville received some extra help from Owen Gronberg, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

The victory (which was Danville's third in a row) raised their record to 7-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points over those games. As for Fisher Catholic, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-3.

Looking ahead, Danville will face off against Waterford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least 31 points in their last five contests. Fisher Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
