Recap: Bordentown Scotties vs. Trenton Catholic Academy
The Bordentown Scotties pushed their score all the way to 59 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Trenton Catholic Academy 65-59. While losing is never fun, Bordentown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while Trenton Catholic Academy is ranked 115th).
Defeat or not, Bordentown got some senior leadership from Andrew DeCosta who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and Myles Hansford who scored 12 points along with three steals. The game was DeCosta's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Max Martin was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Bordentown's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Trenton Catholic Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bordentown will take on Doane Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Doane Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Trenton Catholic Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Westampton Tech at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Westampton Tech focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Monday.
