Football Recap: Sunrise Mountain Skates Past Sierra Linda with Ease

There's no place like home for Sunrise Mountain, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They really took it to the Sierra Linda Bulldogs for the full four quarters, racking up a 76-0 victory. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Mustangs had established a 56-point advantage.

Ingrid Sandoval went supernova, throwing for 149 yards and four TDs on perfect 5-for-5 passing. Kaylee Pruetz was in the mix as well, providing Sunrise Mountain with three touchdowns.

Sunrise Mountain didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off seven passes before the game was over. Pruetz led the group effort, picking up three of those interceptions all by herself. Ana Tamo got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win got Sunrise Mountain back to even at 1-1. As for Sierra Linda, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sunrise Mountain will challenge Willow Canyon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sierra Linda, they will welcome Desert Edge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Bulldogs' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
