Basketball Recap: Crete-Monee Gets Big Win over Higher-Ranked Simeon

After losing to Simeon the last time they met, Crete-Monee decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Crete-Monee Warriors came out on top against the Simeon Wolverines by a score of 48-41 on Sunday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Warriors' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Wolverines are ranked 29th).

The victory made it two in a row for Crete-Monee and bumps their season record up to 14-6. As for Simeon, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-5 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crete-Monee will host Thornton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Simeon, they will welcome Perspectives-IIT/Joslin at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
