Recap: Dilley Wolves vs. Lytle Pirates
The Dilley Wolves suffered their biggest loss since December 2, 2023 on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 82-54 loss at the hands of Lytle. While losing is never fun, Dilley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1469th, while Lytle is ranked 591st).
Jesse Hernandez and Alex Ayala certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Hernandez scored nine points along with three steals, while Ayala scored eight points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Benjamin Gonzales, who scored 12 points.
Dilley are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13. As for Lytle, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5.
Dilley will take on Natalia at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lytle, they will head out on the road to face off against Hondo at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hondo is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
