Meanwhile, Owyhee faced Eagle in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Storm skirted past the Mustangs 3-2. That's two games straight that the Storm have won by just one run.
Bryce Tam spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Owyhee's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Max Menke, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Mountain View is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Owyhee, they pushed their record up to 26-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mountain View has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game.
