Basketball Recap: Lipan's Run of Three Straight Wins Now Over

Lipan lost against Kountze back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lipan Indians fell 65-52 to the Kountze Lions. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while the Lions are ranked 54th).

Zac Sells continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Kountze, putting up 16 points in addition to eight assists and eight steals. Sells is crushing it when it comes to points: he's scored at least 16 every time he's taken the court this season.

Lipan moved to 10-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Kountze, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season.

Lipan has already played their next game, a 39-36 loss against Martins Mill on the 28th. As for Kountze, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-68 win against Tatum on the 28th.
