Baseball Recap: Lynn Classical Has No Trouble Against Saugus

Lynn Classical had won three straight on the road, but on Saturday they bumped their record up to 9-2 to make it four. They put the hurt on the Saugus Sachems with a sharp 11-4 win. For the Rams, this counts as revenge for the 13-10 victory the Sachems walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Emerson Lara was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Ronal Brea was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lynn Classical kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Saugus only managed five hits.

As for Saugus, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for they, who until this matchup were averaging 3.86 runs allowed.

On Saugus' side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Danny Zeits, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that Zeits has launched this season.

Looking ahead, Lynn Classical will head out on the road to take on Everett at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Saugus, they will be playing at home against Gloucester at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
