Football Game Preview: Alton Redbirds vs. Belleville West Maroons + Official Tickets

Alton is 2-8 against Belleville West since October of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Redbirds will be playing in front of their home fans against the Maroons at 7:00 p.m. Alton has given up an average of 35.5 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Alton is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Belleville East on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Redbirds were beaten by the Lancers 47-6. The Redbirds were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-0.

Meanwhile, Belleville West's game on Friday was all tied up 22-22 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a hard 46-30 fall against O'Fallon. The loss continues a trend for the Maroons in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost five in a row.

Belleville West's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Alton, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Alton suffered a grim 44-22 defeat to Belleville West when the teams last played back in September of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Redbirds were down 37-6.
