Basketball Recap: Danville Takes a Loss

Danville lost against Randolph School back in November of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Danville Hawks were dealt a 77-36 loss at the hands of the Randolph School Raiders. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 336th, while the Raiders are ranked 163rd).

Danville's loss came despite strong showings from Ben Ellenburg and Donald Walker. Ellenburg posted 13 points, while Walker had nine points. Another player making a difference was Avery Muhammad, who put up five points and three steals.

Danville dropped their record down to 10-18 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Randolph School, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-9.

Both are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Danville has already played their next contest (against West Morgan), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Randolph School is taking a road trip to take on Cleburne County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
