Basketball Recap: Bradshaw Mountain Comes Up Short

On Thursday, the Bradshaw Mountain Bears were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 41-35 to the Marana Tigers. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Bradshaw Mountain still got an impressive performance from Kenna Martinez, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Martinez a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalli Smith, who posted six points.

Even though they lost, Bradshaw Mountain smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in nine consecutive games.

Bradshaw Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Marana, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.

Bradshaw Mountain and Thunderbird will face off at 8:00 a.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. As for Marana, they will challenge Pueblo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
