Basketball Game Preview: Lake Houston HomeSchool Conquerors vs. Second Baptist Eagles

The Lake Houston HomeSchool Conquerors will challenge the Second Baptist Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Last Monday, Lake Houston HomeSchool made easy work of Humble Christian and carried off a 47-26 victory. The Conquerors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Second Baptist came tearing into Tuesday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Lions 65-27. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-13.

Lake Houston HomeSchool better focus on containing Grace Wehring and Eloise Tackett as the pair were huge in Second Baptist's win. Wehring went 9 for 12 en route to 24 points along with eight steals and six boards, while Tackett went 9 of 16 on her way to 24 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Tackett has scored at least a third of Second Baptist's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Vessel, who posted eight points and five assists.

Second Baptist is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.1 points per game. As for Lake Houston HomeSchool, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-4.
