Volleyball Recap: Bolivar Central Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Bolivar Central duked it out with Lakeland Preparatory on Thursday. The Tigers came up short against the Lions, falling 3-0. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-19, 25-9.

Lakeland Preparatory's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Avery Spencer, who had 14 digs and five aces. Those 14 digs gave Spencer a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Burd, who had 18 digs and four aces.

Bolivar Central's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-3. As for Lakeland Preparatory, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-4.

Bolivar Central will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Middleton at 4:30 p.m. on September 8. As for Lakeland Preparatory, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Covington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
