Basketball Recap: Cary Find Success

The Cary Imps were able to grind out a solid victory over the Purnell Swett Rams on Friday, taking the game 55-43.

Bryson Keith was his usual excellent self, shooting 71% from the field on his way to 12 points and seven boards. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 45.2% shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Lee Snider, who posted seven points and ten rebounds.

Cary smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

When it comes to explaining why Purnell Swett lost, don't look at Jeremiah Barnes. Despite the final result, he went 6-for-11 from beyond the arc to rack up 24 points and three steals. Barnes has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Koda Oxendine, who had nine points.

Cary now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Purnell Swett, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Cary has already played their next game, a 78-67 defeat against Willow Spring on the 15th. As for Purnell Swett, they will be home for the holidays to greet Dillon at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
